I. List of Online teacher duties:

  1. Leads the implementation of a new, innovative cutting edge, professional development platform.
  2. Creates a vision for teachers' engagement and develops an adoption plan to support the platform's use.
  3. Responsible for developing strategy and messaging on the Platform and ensuring its used to improve teacher practice.
  4. Ensures alignment between Divisions' strategies and the functionality of the platform.
  5. Vets and reviews content for the Online Professional Development Platform.
  6. Builds relationships with executives in other school districts and states across the country in order to learn from examples of good practice and implementation of other online tools.
  7. Manages 2 staff members responsible for the day to day operations of the Platform.
  8. Works closely with school leaders, teachers, and district staff to develop a deep understanding of the tools and resources required to support teachers.
  9. Supports and carries out the Chancellor's mission to transform DC Public Schools and close the achievement gap.
  10. Performs other related duties as assigned.

II. List of Online teacher qualifications

  1. Bachelor's degree and at least 8 years of related experience
  2. Master's degree strongly preferred
  3. Experience managing others
  4. Experience in change management
  5. Exceptional writing and communication skills
  6. Strong knowledge of strategies around implementation of professional development
  7. Proven leadership with teacher professional development
  8. At least 5 years of experience in the education sector required
  9. Experience building technology tools to drive teacher practice
  10. Ed tech or technology experience preferred
  11. Strong project management skills
  12. Desire and ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  13. Focus on outcomes and willingness to work as hard as necessary to achieve the program's goals.
